PRACTICE is the laboratory of educational and nonprofit design/build work by Matthew Wolpe and collaborators.

PRACTICE partners with nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and small businesses to design and build structures, interiors, furniture and products that enhance their capacity to do good. PRACTICE operates from the assumption that successful design and craft is intrinsically linked with social and environmental responsibility.

We design, we build, we teach, we lead team-building workshops, we like to collaborate, we have fun.

Projects are managed from conception to completion, toggling back and forth between the analog (hand drawing, fine woodworking, carpentry, metalwork, timberframing) and the digital (CAD, CNC, water jet, laser cutting, 3D printers).

                               Current and Previous Partners Include:
                               Laney College
                               Yestermorrow Design/Build School
                               The Crucible
                               DesignCorps
                               City Slicker Farms
                               Clif Bar/In Good Company
UC Berkeley College of Environmental Design
